What exactly is Val's Galore?

According to the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary, (and in fact, most dictionaries) "Galore" is a postpositive adjective, Irish in derivation, meaning abundant or plentiful.  However, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary from 1913, "galore" can also be used as a noun for plenty or abundance.  How exciting!  Let's bring back this terminology—good words should never die.  With this in mind, Val's Galore means "the abundance belonging to Valerie."  You will find a little of everything here, and you will find it in plenty!  Enjoy!

The Val in Val's Galore

The Val in Val's Galore isn't just short for Valerie. It also stands for "values"—the things that are truly important to me and, as I see it, the world as well. There are a lot of these, the greatest of these being love...and right up there in the rankings, things like compassion, sustainability, simplicity, optimism, tolerance, respect, order, and logic. And then there's fun and frivolity! They make for a great combination.

StarVal's Galore, now and before

Val's Galore had its beginnings in 1994, with two giggling girls sitting in the back of Mr. C's 5th grade classroom. One of them was me. The other one wasn't, but that's another story. This story is primarily concerned with how, shortly after we planned our ingenious fine dining restaurant under the name MV's, I took the spinoff company (Val's Galore) that I invented and ran with it. I created "magalogs" (for my eyes only) and "uselessly useful items" for my lucky parents to receive on their birthdays. These items have evolved into the custom crafts division of Val's Galore. It was only around 1998 (perhaps? I didn't keep very accurate records) that I discovered my true calling - Web design - and created my first website. Thanks to a few fortunate job experiences, I got much better at my calling than I was in 1998, and now I am here, offering to share my services and my love of the Web with all the world.
